Dilemma on the theory of the climate change!

As we all know the presence of the moon around the earth plays a crusial role on the existence of the life on earth. Now a days there're a number of researchers/astronouts that are discovering the extension of the gap between earth and the moon. The average distance between the Moon and the Earth is 384,403 kilometers (238,857 miles). This distance fluctuates between 363,104 kilometers and 405,696 kilometers (225,622 to 252,088 miles) due to the eccentricity of the Moon's orbit.
Gravitational interaction (tides on the Earth caused by the Moon) transfers kinetic energy from Earth to the Moon, slowing Earth's rotation and raising the Moon's orbit, currently at a rate of 3.8 centimeters per year. (Jeff Rot 18/02/2003).
If this is the case that due to tidal friction, the moon recedes at a rate of roughly 3.8 cm (1.5 inches) per year, then it would have a devastating consequence.
By applying the law of conservation of momentum to the earth-moon pair, we find the tidal friction effect slows down the rotation of the earth and lunar revolution, thus increasing earth-moon distance. And the gradual recession of the moon from the earth leads to huge tides, and unpredictable rotation of the earth.
My question would be:
1) What would be the direct effect of the tidal friction on climate change? We have heard that extreme consequence of climate change could also lead to huge tides, disaster & eventually to ice-coverage most of the fridge and temperate zones.
2) And would there be any possibility that the moon comes back, forced by the earth's gravitational force to its original spinning? Or would the fate of the earth be eaten up by the giant Jupiter?

  1. Don't worry, at the rate we are going humanity will see its demise long before all that happens.

  2. Agree! And that´s the scary part. While the consumer class thrives, great disparities remain. The 12 percent of the world’s population that lives in North America and Western Europe accounts for more than 60 percent of private consumption spending, while the one-third living in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa accounts for only 3.2 percent.

Imagine how fast the rate is increasing. Of course
people must consume to survive, and the world’s poorest will need to increase their level of consumption if they are to lead lives of dignity and opportunity.
